Smooshi is a unique female Walrus that lives in the MarineLand park in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The thing that makes her different from the other walrus' at the park is that she believes that Phil Demers, a fromer trainer at the park, is her mother. She was brought to Marineland, from Russia, when she was only 18 months old. This is part of the reason Phil and others think that she thought Phil was her mom. The two created an amazing, and strong bond. Smooshi, like other animals at MarineLand, suffers from injuries from the harsh chemicals in the water. She, and the other animals, are taken out of the water for long periods of time because of the poor quality of the water. Smooshi has been on display until last summer when she disappeared and has not been seen since. It is believed that she is being holed up in a shack where many other animals have gone, including one of MarineLand's killer whales. In the shack the animals are cut off from fresh air, and is hardly interacted with. In the ware house is a pool that, to the standards of a Killer Whale, a Walrus or a Dolphin is like sitting in a tiny, plastic, baby pool.
